Its going to be interesting to see what the fallout the remake will bring come the movie's release. You already have one half whom are against it are hoping that the movie bombs Fant4stic style, not because for gender reasons, because of the BS build up the remake has been getting while disregarding what it should have been in the first place. Making a good movie. Then you have another half who want the movie to succeed because"Haha you women hating haters" despite the fact that men and women hated the trailer for reasons that isn't: A; Sexist B; Racist.
The fact that Sony is looking at building a universe around the Ghostbusters franchise is a pretty bold claim given the not so kind buzz the film is getting at the moment and after the mess of Amazing Spider-Man 2 you'd think that they'd learn their lesson by now. Honestly the movie surprisingly made me look back at a movie that did progressive thinking much better. The Force Awakens. Its main character is a heroine and it has a diverse cast but its primary agenda is bringing quality back to the Star Wars franchise after the stink that was The Prequels. Its because of this fact I start to wonder maybe Disney should have bought the Ghostbusters franchise while it was at it.
So come release its going to be interesting to see which side was right? Personally I'm of the side that's going to sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
What I'd recommend to those interested in seeing the movie is watch the movie as it is. A movie. Judge it on its movie quality, form your own opinion regarding it. And for the love of God don't be like these sheep that buy into this political agenda nonsense.

How much Sony is paying The Mary Sue site to kiss its ass I wonder?
