Well, its that time. Jackverine's last movie. To say his quality in movies is a rollercoaster would be an understatement but I cant deny that he's a guilty pleasure of mine. I liked this version better than comic Wolverine, and I've followed the character from the first X-Movie to now. I feel old after typing that.
So with Jackman's final Wolverine movie coming up I'm going to list the top 5 reasons why we should anticipate the movie. Why top 5? Because I can.
5. It's Rated R
Wolverine finally gets a chance to take off the kid gloves and do what he does best. If they could somehow incorporate Sabertooth in the mix then we are gonna have a very bloody yet entertaining fight on our hands.
4. Hugh Jackman Giving A Damn
Say what you will about the film portrayal of Wolverine but if there is anything I respect about Hugh Jackman its that he not only says he enjoys playing the character but he has a blast while doing so. He doesn't phone it in nor is in it for the paycheck. Looking at you Jennifer Lawrence. Now that he's in an R-Rated Wolverine film I bet he'd be feeling like a kid in a video game store.
3. Patrick Stewart's Last Hurrah
To those who have enjoyed the OG Professor X then you'll be pleased to know that he's in this movie. And, much like Jackman, this could be his last run as Xavier. If that is the case then I hope his send off is a good yet emotional one.
2. It's Not A Superhero Movie
Despite the title, don't expect this to be your typical superhero fare. At best it's a Mad Max esque modern western post-apocalyptic flick. That involves one character reaching an end of his era while another character's journey has just started. Speaking of...
1. X-23!!!!
After all this time it's finally happening! I've wanted her to be in an X-Movie since her character showed up in Evo and now I get the chance! I like that this version of Laura has a sweet balance of adorable yet can mess you up when she cuts loose. And I hope that this is the character that the franchise use, going forward. Let Wolverine retire with Jackman.
