The Walking Dead Toning Down The Violence

http://tvweb.com/walking-dead-season-7-violence-toned-down-premiere-backlash/

Normally I'd get on a tirade of how nobody should dictate how a writer should tell it's story but in The Walking Dead's case I've stopped watching long before this news came about. The series has became nothing but a gimmick that focused heavily on shock value but without enough story substance to make said shock value meaningful.

As of yesterday I watched a movie called The Hateful Eight and let me tell you that movie earned it's R-Rating but not without purpose. I'd say it was the least violent of Tarantino's films. But when the violence and blood is shown there is usually a purpose behind it. That is one of the reasons why I admired the guy's directing talent. He'd try to blend both violence and storytelling into one cohesive narrative unit. With The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones I pretty much tune out when a violent scene happens.

So I'm really not shedding any tears as far as this news is concerned.
