Why I Consider The Avatar Series A Superhero Series?

And no, I'm not talking about the one involving blue elves.

While they don't fall under the traditional definitions of a superhero series, such as wearing tights or costumes, they both represent a common superhero archtype.

The Avatar is as close to a Superman archtype the series ever had. Some even worships The Avatar as a God. Others want to use it as a weapon. All Aang and Korra wanted to do was to help people. Their arcs reminds me of Clark's from Smallville. Just a kid with powers that even they're trying to figure out while trying to balance between being normal and being the savior of the world.

What makes it a superhero series that it involves two extraordinary people with extraordinary abilities who want to use their abilities to do the right thing. And the fight scenes are pretty sweet too.
